Indian Music Therapy Research and Development Foundation (IMTRDF) is conducting summer workshop on Indian music therapy in association with Swathi Thirunal Kala Kendram, Thiruvannur, Kozhikode on 27th and 28th May.
According to the organizers, the main objective of the workshop is to create awareness among the public on the curative potential of Indian music therapy and its access to healing several areas of diseases and illnesses. The workshop will be conducted at Swathi Thirunal Kala kendram, Thiruvannur. It is aimed at students, corporate executives, medical professionals, traffic and police personnel, housewives and senior citizens.
The non-resident workshop will be in four sessions. It includes introductory lectures, seminar sessions, live presentations, audio-visual presentations, listening sessions and analytical application sessions.
Objective of the workshop according to Mr. Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri; “Music Therapy is widely known and accepted as a source of treatment for several diseases and illnesses. It is an accepted form of alternative and holistic system of medicine for treatment. Presently music therapy is widely used in western countries.
