It is heartbreaking to watch people in so much distress. Today President George Bush is in the scene and he called efforts so far by the Govt. machinery as insufficient. He is calling for more urgent efforts. He has already got emergency approval for more than ten billion dollars.
Hurricane Katrina make one reminisce Tsunami that battered Asia last year. The power of water was everywhere and it took everything on its way. In New Orleans water still occupies everything it took, after days, by not receding. On one hand people don’t have food and they resort to looting food, other essentials and on the other hand some antisocial elements are at work. However that was the last problem anyone wanted in an already chaotic situation.
New Orleans is a city under water. There is no drinking water, no food, no telecommunication, and no transportation. The most basic requirement to sustain human life is non existent! However the true scale of this disaster is not yet known.
It seems most people could not evacuate their homes after warnings were put out by the authorities because they were too weak or poor. Those who could, have already done so before hurricane struck.
